At our next Government Contracting Council meeting, topic will be - Funding the Work: Capital for Virginia Small Businesses.
This discussion will cover a survey of the capital available to Virginia small businesses pursuing public work. Covers direct loans, loan guaranties, credit enhancement, and bonding support, and how to cover the gap between performing on a contract and getting paid.
The meeting will feature guest speaker Donald Jacubec. Donald Jacubec is a Regional Lending Manager (RLM) with the Virginia Small Business Financing Authority for Northern Virginia and a portion of the Shenandoah. As an RLM, he has been assisting small business owners with their capital requirements for expansion, new equipment, or other purposes with a direct loan. The VSBFA may partner with community banks when a loan guaranty is required for one of their business loans.
Before joining the VSBFA, Donald worked as a Commercial Lender for more than 35 years, assisting businesses with revenues up to $30 million with their credit needs. He is an experienced commercial and residential construction lender. During his tenure as a Commercial Lender, several businesses were provided with the necessary capital for sales growth and eventual sale for several multiples of operating income.
