The Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certification & Small, Women-owned, and Minority-owned Business (SWaM) certification programs
The VA Disadvantaged Business Enterprise (DBE) certification program is a Federal program, at the state level. The purpose is to increase the participation of certified DBEs in projects funded by the US Department of Transportation and other federal sectors. Projects typically include heavy construction, such as building and designing roads, bridges, railroads, ports, and airports.
The Small, Women-owned, and Minority-owned Business (SWaM) certification program is a state program of the Commonwealth of Virginia, whose purpose is to enhance procurement opportunities for SWaM businesses participating in state-funded projects.
Richard Gordon, based in Washington, DC, US, was previously a Manager, Department of Supplier Diversity (RETIRED) at Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority. Richard Gordon brings experience from previous roles at Metropolitan Washington Airports Authority, Dominion First Realty, Virginia Housing Development Authority and Virginia Department of Minority Business Enterprise. Richard Gordon holds a BS @ North Carolina A&T State University. With a robust skill set that includes Strategic Planning, Project Planning, Team Building, Contract Negotiation, Budgets and more.
