Mike Wiczalkowski
Administrative State Coordinator
We’re pleased to welcome a speaker from the Virginia STAR Team, which empowers students to refurbish surplus hardware for donation to families and organizations in need. Mike Wiczalkowski began working in the IT industry in the early 1980’s. A teacher for Prince William County Public Schools for over 20 years, Mike taught computer repair systems and Cisco networking; and worked with the VA STAR program since its conception. Mike’s certifications include COMP-TIA A+, Net+, Security+, Cisco CCNA, Cisco CCENT, Cisco Essentials, Cat 5/6, Fiber, Net+ Instructor, Microsoft Certified. Mike took over as Administrator of the VA STAR program in 2019.
As a State Coordinator, Mike coordinators at each school work with students to refurbish computers; teaching students the necessary job skills for the computer industry; and then the students donate those computers back into the community. VA STAR is helping students and communities one computer at a time.
