Our Health & Wellness Council collaborated with the Dept's of Community Services & Social Services to help establish a Men's Wellness Committee.

Peer Support Services

*Connecting with Other Service Members and Veterans*

The VVFS Veteran Peer Specialists (VPS) are veterans representing diverse backgrounds, military, post-military and transition experiences. VPS assist service members and veterans in identifying their own personal goals for wellness and growth, helps them overcome barriers to personal objectives and both encourages and accompanies the military member and their family throughout the process.

VPS are trained to provide not only mental health support to the military community, but to also identify resources that may assist the service member in reaching their stated goals.

The "InsideOut Dad" curriculum is a program designed to help incarcerated fathers develop positive parenting skills and strengthen their relationships with their children. It's an evidence-based curriculum that aims to reduce recidivism by improving fathers' attitudes, knowledge, and skills related to fatherhood. The program typically consists of 12 core sessions and 6 optional reentry sessions, covering topics like family history, communication, discipline, and co-parenting.
