Public Safety Innovation Center (PSIC)

      The Public Safety Innovation Center at the Virginia Innovation Partnership Corporation (VIPC), is the non-profit arm of the Virginia Innovation Partnership Authority. The mission of the Public Safety Innovation Center (PSIC) is to assist with the development and implementation of new and/or improved technology for use by public safety emergency responders at the local, state, and federal level.

       As Director, Chris works with technology developers, public safety agencies across Virginia, the U.S. Department of Homeland Security, and other federal, state, and local partners to develop, test, and integrate emerging technologies that strengthen the operational capabilities of first responders and public safety organizations nationwide.

Dr. Niyati Dhokai

Program Director, Veterans and the Arts Initiative 
Research Associate Professor

        Dr. Niyati Dhokai is a Research Associate Professor in the College of Visual and Performing Arts at George Mason University, and she also serves as the Program Director for the Veterans and the Arts Initiative at the Hylton Performing Arts Center. 

        Having directed the Veterans and the Arts Initiative since its inception as a community-based arts program in support of military-connected people in 2015, Dhokai has grown the Initiative from an annual Veterans Day event to a year-round program that has served over 20,000 people through uniquely designed virtual and in-person workshops, a collaboration with Prince William Public Libraries, and curated concerts and special events.
