Possum Point Station Tour

Join us for a guided tour of the Possum Point Power Station, led by Yolanda Green of Dominion Energy.

Possum Point is a small peninsula in Northern Virginia that lies in a suburban area of Washington D.C. Dominion Virginia Power operates the power plant on the point. The area is rich in Civil War History, and a nearby peak, Possum Nose, was the site of a Confederate fort.

Located along the Potomac River and Quantico Creek, the station originally generated electricity from coal between 1948 and 2003. Today, it operates on natural gas and oil and remains one of the most powerful energy plants in the Commonwealth.
