DENNIS GILL - Director of the Americans in Wartime Experiences Voices of Freedom Project.
"Recording and Preserving the Stories of Those Who Helped Write the Pages of Human History"
◾ Dennis served in the United States Air Force for 4 years as an Electronic Warfare Systems Specialist and deployed in support of Operation Desert Storm. After leaving the active-duty Air Force, he joined the Virginia Air National Guard, serving for 3 years. Dennis became a Police Officer with Prince William County in 1998 serving in various capacities until his retirement in 2023. He has been with the Americans in Wartime Experience (formerly the National Museum of Americans in Wartime) since 2010 and became the director of the Voices of Freedom Project in 2017. During that time, he, along with other project members have conducted over 750 interviews with Americans, both veterans and civilians who have served during wartime or have a connection to a wartime event. The interviews serve to capture and preserve their stories for future generations so that history isn't lost to the passage of time.
