Sharon Fontanella has significant leadership, planning, organizational, education and program management experience. She is a retired Lieutenant Colonel in U.S. Army Intelligence and a former Department of Defense Contractor serving the intelligence and security community. In her final position on the Army Staff in the Pentagon, she was the systems integrator for the Army’s largest tactical intelligence program, responsible for the requirements and disbursement of close to $1B program dollars. As a contractor, she developed requirements for the U.S. Capitol Police for their integrated systems architecture. Sharon taught a combined 11 years of college level courses at the U.S. Military Academy and Liberty University. Sharon holds Master's and Bachelor’s degrees and black belt rank in Krav Maga. Sharon is married (43 years to Joe), has two married daughters and five grandchildren all of whom are the joys of her life. Sharon has almost two decades of community service in church, scouting, and Middle School and High School athletics where she served as a volunteer, manager, leader and coach. She came to Krav Maga via a women’s self-defense seminar. She was struck by how little she knew and how valuable it would be in her securing her personal safety and that of her loved ones. She also realized how valuable this training is for everyone. She is a strong advocate for training in Krav Maga as a life skill. Sharon leads our community engagement effort and is a recent graduate of Leadership Prince William, Class of 2024. Sharon continues to be a student of Krav Maga.
