About Senator Roem:
Virginia state Senator Danica Roem (D-30th) is a lifelong resident of the greater Manassas area now living in Manassas Park. She’s serving her third year in the Senate of Virginia after serving six years in the Virginia House of Delegates. To date, during her nine session in the Virginia General Assembly, 67 of her bills have been signed into law, all with bipartisan support.
Prior to running for office in 2017, Danica spent more than nine years as our local newspaper reporter here for the Gainesville Times and Prince William Times.
She also worked as a staff writer for The Hotline, content writer for Yoga Alliance, the news editor of the Montgomery County Sentinel and executive director of Emerge Virginia, where she spent more than four years recruiting and training Democratic women how to run for office.
Danica is also a guest trainer with the LGBTQ+ Victory Institute’s candidate and campaign training program for out LGBTQ+ candidates.
Danica earned her B.A. in 2006 from the Jandoli School of Journalism at St. Bonaventure University. She grew up attending Loch Lomond Elementary School, All Saints Catholic School and Paul VI Catholic High School.
